BREAKING: Tinubu meets in Aso Rock with Fubara, Odili, Others Over Rivers Crisis

Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, and President Bola Tinubu are currently meeting behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Sir Peter Odili, the former governor of Rivers State, along with other state officials escorted Fubara to the state house.

It appears that the President is intervening to end the confrontation between the governor and Nyesom Wike, the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Wike was earlier sighted at the State House.

Sources within the presidency confirmed that the meeting may not be unconnected to the recent developments in the state, in which 27 out of 32 members of the State House of Assembly, who are loyalists of the FCT Minister, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Before the meeting kicked off earnestly, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, was seen attending the meeting.
